Mini me in Mother form

While my mother and I disagreed on many - well MOST things, we both had a fondness for dolls. Wish she had lived to be part of the internet/convention/okay for adults to collect style we know today.

Dorothy had a passion for fashion and Hess's French Room was her favorite place to shop - in the day.

While I do not resemble any doll out there, my mother was a combo of Tonner's Regina and The Wicked Witch with the silver hair. Mother would have adored the Griffin Splendor fashion - silver/gray being her favorite color.

This post is dedicated to you, Mother - (who would have been 89 on October 15.)

The Twins in Drearydom

Some viewers of The Shining speculate that Stanley Kubrick patterned his Come Play With Us, Danny twins after a famous photograph by Diane Arbus called Idenical Twins.

Kubrick's The Shining version of the sisters standing at the end of the hallway in The Overlook:

In Drearydom we have our own version for Halloween:

I LOVE Pic Monkey

When Flickr changed their original photoshop option I sighed - deeply. My refurbished camera can only do so much with lighting and exposure and such. Flickr's replacement program was weak in comparison. Googled free photoshops and found Pic Monkey. Now I feel much better - and their offering are always improving. Nice.
